The challenge

Hiring still runs on resumes and black boxes.

HES's employer customers kept hitting the same wall. Screening ran on what candidates wrote, not what they could do, and tools ranked people without saying why. The platforms that did more needed implementations smaller employers couldn't take on.

Recruiting technology should help employers make better decisions, not simply give them more data to sort through.

  • Queued as they arrive. New assessment results go into a queue and are processed inside HES’s VPC.
  • Analyzed by an agent. A TalentScout AI agent built on Strands Agents works through each candidate, with tracing built in.
  • The best model for each task. A routing layer on Amazon Bedrock picks the model, reached privately through a VPC endpoint.
  • Stored for employers. Profiles, scores and guidance are saved for employers to see.
  • Questions answered. Talent Scout Bot answers employers’ questions on that data, with memory and end-to-end identity.

How Talent Scout AI runs on AWSHigh-level AWS architecture of Talent Scout AI. Candidates take HES assessments; new results are queued in Amazon SQS and processed by AWS Lambda for the TalentScout AI agent, built on Strands Agents and running on Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate. Both Lambda functions, the agent and Amazon Aurora run inside an Amazon VPC. The agent reaches Amazon Bedrock privately through a VPC endpoint (AWS PrivateLink); Bedrock routes each task to the best model. The agent stores profiles, scores and guidance in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB. Employers see the explained matches in TruTalent, and can ask Talent Scout Bot questions through Amazon API Gateway: the bot runs on AWS Lambda with Strands Agents, keeps conversation memory, and uses end-to-end identity so each query only reaches the data that user may see.
